As promised, I have read your article. I definitely think you have some good thoughts and ideas, and your article is well-researched. I work at Amazon, and so they are definitely more about relying on the process or the "standard work" procedures rather than on any particular leader though managers are expected to be able to make good business decisions based on what is in front of them as well as using the standard work and leadership principles to guide them. I do think you make some good points as it relates to the note that I wrote the other day. Thanks for sharing this article. I do have other thoughts, but I will leave it at what I've given already. Blessings to you.

Your article made me think of a problem I'd appreciate your take on.

What happens when the team IS thinking for themselves, bringing decent solutions, doing everything right, but the leader rejects it anyway because it's not how they would've done it? No clear criteria, just preference. I know plenty of examples where people create solutions to problems based on what worked and was approved by them before with little to no success.

At that point it's not about rescuing people too quickly but that the team learns to stop trying because it simply doesn't work and wastes time.

What would be your take on this?
