Hey Dan, As a leader, manager, coach, and consultant, I am interested and impressed by your writing and the conceptual underpinnings you cite. The leadership field has been studied to death so I commend your fresh and sometimes irreverent takes.
I noted with interest your section on the Ted Lasso series overall and the relevant traits of the central characters. Although fictional, those characters appealed to us all individually and collectively and you succinctly described way.
Immodestly, I was a good leader but it was all instinctive. I saw what was needed. I kept things simple. I found good people, trusted them, and we evolved in response to circumstances. I utilized split vision, that is, scanning the horizon while simultaneously seeing the immediate terrain.
One last thing. I enjoy your lighthearted tone. It is refreshing when dealing with meaty topics within organizational theory. I look forward to reading your work.
As for me, I will get to business-related posts but first I am laying foundations to the long-running themes I envision: travel, sports, spirituality (Zen mostly), adventure, and characters studies. Join me if this is of interest.
