Thanks so much for an awesome collaboration together, Tanu! :) Looking forwards to the next one for sure. I hope this article finds some leaders who can assess their blind-spots better because of this.
I really enjoyed this article, especially the way you both focus on identifying the effects of our blind spots rather than trying to identify the blind spots directly. That feels a lot more practical. I also like the idea of running small experiments to learn more about ourselves instead of expecting one big moment of insight.
Your section on having a "bias for action" also resonated. I'm someone who can easily get trapped in thinking, refining and overthinking until I've collected enough evidence not to do something. It's a good reminder that action is often the thing that generates the clarity we're waiting for.
And your example about ineffective meetings hit home! I don't always voice my frustration, but I know that everyone in the room can read it from my face. I'm going to try your suggestion of taking notes on what's happening in my own thinking during those meetings. Thank you!
AKB! Hell yeah. Welcome to the note team. Great excuse to get yourself some nice notebooks and some fun pencils or pens to write with. I just ordered myself a Leuchtturm notebook.
Absolutely true observation that we romanticize personal breakthroughs and expect/hope they will be of epic proportions. When, in reality, it’s the daily actions that fuel change.
I’m very curious to hear in a month or so if taking notes worked for you, if it didn’t, and to know more about your journey. Let’s be friends! :)
You're Team Leuchtturm? Then we're already friends :-) I've been using their notebooks and calendars for years.
I'm definitely going to give your note-taking idea a proper try and let you know how it goes. I've got a few meetings coming up where I'll have plenty of opportunities to practice. It'll be interesting to see what I notice once I start paying attention to my own thinking instead of everyone else's...
So glad it resonated with you. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Your instinct is right about paying attention to your own thinking first. There’s a lot that comes to light when we put pen to the paper. Looking forward to following your work. :)

I really enjoyed doing this together, Dan! Always admire your insights so this one was extra special. :) Cheers to more in the future.
Me too, Tanu. Extra special indeed :) likewise. Cheers to more!
